Quil - A text expander that fills in the blanks.

Self-initiated project: built Quill, a free Windows-first text expansion app, solo using Tauri v2, Rust, and React/TypeScript, as a portfolio piece to demonstrate end-to-end desktop app development. The main technical challenges were building a global keyboard hook with reliable text injection, and implementing a {cursor} marker that places the cursor precisely after expansion using Windows UI Automation. Also built dynamic variables (text, date, clipboard) usable inside snippets, an Alt+Space popup for fast snippet search, form-input variables for template-style snippets that prompt the user before expanding, per-app snippet scoping, case-matching on expansion, and JSON import/export for snippets and variables.
